Zelensky: We work tirelessly to bring every child home
Washington, August 19 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that thousands of people still need to be released and that this is part of achieving peace.
Ukrainian President Zelensky said that he thanked Melania Trump for her attention to one of the most painful and difficult issues of this war – the abduction of Ukrainian children by Russia.
Expressing deep gratitude for her compassion and her letter to Putin, Zelensky stressed: “This issue lies at the heart of the humanitarian tragedy of the war: our children, our broken families, the pain of separation. At least 20,000 children have been abducted. I asked President Trump to convey to Melania a thank-you letter from Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska. Her voice is important, and her attention gives strength to this cause.”
Zelensky emphasized that they are working tirelessly to bring every child home, adding:
“The same applies to our prisoners of war and civilians, some of whom have been held in Russia for years under very harsh conditions since 2014. Thousands of people still need to be released, and this is part of achieving peace.”
