European Parliament President Roberta Metsola gave her assessment of yesterday’s meeting in Washington. She stressed that the meeting held could change the rules of the game on the road to peace in Ukraine and said:

“Following the Alaska Summit between the US and Russia, the meeting of US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European Union leaders means that a real chance for peace is now realistic. It is difficult, but not impossible. The European Union is, at its core, a peace project. We have always strived for peace and we will continue to do so.”
