Tajani: I am monitoring the situation of all Italians in the region
Rome, March 2 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani announced that he has launched crisis diplomacy to ensure the safety of Italian citizens and assess the economic impact of the war following developments in Iran and the Middle East.
Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani outlined the measures taken by Italy in response to rising tensions in the Middle East and developments centered on Iran.
Tajani stated that he is conducting intensive consultations both to ensure the security of Italian personnel in the region and to safeguard economic stability.
In his statement, Minister Tajani said: “I am in constant contact with Italian diplomatic missions in the Middle East and I am monitoring the situation of all Italians in the region, both civilians and military personnel. This morning, I am meeting with ambassadors and consuls to assess and decide on initiatives aimed at protecting our citizens.”
Referring also to economic risks alongside diplomatic efforts, Tajani added: “I will also meet with the foreign trade task force to inform our companies about the initiatives and the possible economic consequences of the war.”
